Julianna Villarosa is a scientist-turned-filmmaker, activist, curator, and educator. Her work explores ecology, place, and human-environment relationships. She holds an MFA in Film & Video Production from the University of Iowa and a BA in Media Production from the University of North Carolina. She is a former Iowa Arts Fellow and Student Academy Awards semi-finalist, and has recieved grants from the Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission, the Eye Filmmuseum, and the Puffin Foundation. She is currently in post-production on her first feature documentary.
